Minding not certain to run in Irish 1000 Guineas

Brilliant Qipco 1000 Guineas winner Minding is not certain to take her chance in the Tattersalls-sponsored Irish version at the Curragh on Sunday.

Such was the dazzling effort Aidan O’Brien’s filly produced on the Rowley Mile at Newmarket, she is hot favourite for the Investec Oaks at Epsom next month.

Stablemate Ballydoyle chased home Ryan Moore’s mount and does look set for the weekend.

O’Brien has also confirmed Californiadreaming, Coolmore, Even Song and Pretty Perfect.

He said: “We have left Minding in the race but she is not a definite runner and it is possible that Ballydoyle might run instead of her.

“Coolmore could run as well and we could run something else, but we’ll take a look later in the week.”

Jet Setting has been supplemented by Adrian Keatley.

The Fast Company filly has been added to the field at a cost of 30,000 euro after Keatley was heartened by the possibility of rain in the coming days.

Jet Setting, who won the Leopardstown Irish 1,000 Guineas Trial on her penultimate start, was also supplemented for the Guineas at Newmarket but could only finish ninth behind Minding.

Keatley said: “We went ahead and supplemented, so hopefully it keeps up raining.

“We were always waiting on the weather and there’s no going back now.”

Now Or Never and Radiantly, the respective first two home in the Derrinstown Stud 1,000 Guineas Trial at Leopardstown, could renew rivalry.

Dermot Weld still has Tanaza in the hunting pack, while Turret Rocks could represent Jim Bolger.

Cool Thunder impressed on her debut at Naas last year but would be making her seasonal debut, as would Anamba.

Diamond Fields, by contrast, only raced last weekend, when second to Washington DC in a Listed race at Navan.

Ashadihan (Kevin Ryan), Besharah (William Haggas) and Czabo (Mick Channon) are the three potential British challengers.
