Leopardstown officials monitoring weather situation

Temperatures are anticipated to plummet to minus three overnight

Leopardstown officials will closely monitor the weather situation ahead of Sunday's Lexus Chase card with the possibility of freezing fog delaying a thaw in expected frosty conditions.

Temperatures are anticipated to plummet to minus three overnight but no problems are anticipated from that with daytime temperatures forecast to rise to plus four or five.

However there is a chance of freezing fog becoming a factor also and the track chief executive Pat Keogh said: "That could delay a thaw if it happens but we don't anticipate a problem at the moment: as always though we will monitor things closely in the morning and deal with what we have to deal with."

Covers have been put on the take-off and landing sides of fences to combat the frosty conditions.
