HOCKEY:After last weekend's frost claimed three Irish Senior Cup ties the outlook for this weekend suggests there could be a few more postponements, the teams due to make lengthy journeys for their Irish Junior Cup ties likely to be keeping the closest of eyes on the forecast.

Cork’s Church of Ireland are due to travel to Ballymoney for their tie, with Queen’s away to UCC. There are 10 IJC ties scheduled in all, with holders Loreto II at home to Corinthian and last season’s beaten finalists Pembroke Wanderers II hosting Pegasus II.

It’s a busy weekend on both the league and cup fronts, with several Leinster sides in league action tomorrow and on duty again on Sunday for the Jacqui Potter Cup.

The pick of the Division One games is the meeting of two of the quartet of teams tied on 17 points at the top of the table, Loreto and Old Alexandra; the others, Railway Union and UCD, away to Corinthian and at home to North Kildare, respectively.
