Ireland beat Wales in Barcelona

The Irish team are in a position to win the 4-Nations tournament after two wins

Ireland continued on their winning ways in Spain with a 1-0 win over Wales. It leaves the team just one match to play in the 4-Nations event against hosts Spain.

Ireland put one goal past the Welsh this morning in the 30th minute thanks to the finishing abilities of UCD's Shane O'Donoghue after great combination work from Ronan Gormley and Mitch Darling, who ultimately set O'Donoghue up for the winning score

Ireland had a fantastic opportunity to make it two when they earned a penalty stroke but O’Donoghue’s effort hit the post. Ireland went on to press in the final quarter but couldn’t capitalise on any further chances and closed out the game with a 1-0 win.

Ireland already won their first match against Russia on Tuesday in a thrilling 5-3 game and will play hosts, Spain before flying home on Saturday.
