Newbridge College 48 Wesley College 0:Seven tries from a fleet-footed Newbridge side secured a facile victory in their opening Junior Cup clash. Playing against a gale in the opening half, Newbridge took a 17-0 lead thanks to tries from Colm Stapleton and Michael Joyce but the floodgates quickly opened after half-time.
Gavin Burke scored a third try just 44 seconds after the restart followed by tries by Dylan Walker and Tom Berney. Burke grabbed his second try in the 48th minute for a 21-point haul.
