CBC Cork stay on track to retain title

CBC Cork 22 Rockwell College 21:Holders CBC Cork qualified to meet Crescent College Comprehensive in the semi-final after an exciting quarter-final replay win over Rockwell College at Musgrave Park yesterday.

They led 17-8 at half-time following tries from James Humphries and Oisín Conway, both converted by Michael O’Halloran, who also kicked a penalty.

Brian McLoughlin scored Rockwell’s try with Jack Kennedy adding a penalty.

Two more Kennedy penalties reduced the gap to 17-14, but Conway’s second try after 51 minutes sealed matters. Stephen Quirke’s try and conversion in the final play came too late for the Tipperary school.
