Camogie/All-Ireland Club FinalsCashel of Tipperary were crowned All-Ireland senior club camogie champions yesterday after a convincing 1-18 to 0-9 victory over Athenry at the Gaelic Grounds in Limerick.

Cashel became only the second Tipperary club to take the title, with St Patrick's of Drumgoole the last club to achieve this feat in the mid-1960s.

Cashel were on fire from the start and with six points coming from play in the opening half, and they led 0-7 to 0-5 at the interval.

Player of the match Philly Fogarty, Claire Grogan and Una O'Dwyer played key roles for Cashel who dominated the second half and a late goal from Emily Hayden sealed their deserved victory.

Meanwhile, a 64th-minute point from Áine Mahony ensured The Harps of Laois were crowned back-to-back All-Ireland junior club champions after their 2-8 to 2-7 win over Keady from Armagh in an exciting encounter at the Stabannon Parnells club in Louth yesterday.
