BASKETBALL ALL-IRELAND SCHOOLS' CUPS:PRESENTATION BRAY captured the Under-16 A boys final title at the first attempt at the National Basketball Arena yesterday, with Lorcan Murphy turning in an MVP display with 19 points in the 51-47 victory over St Fintan's High School.

Brendan O’Neill also impressed with 17 points.

The Bray defence was notable in the closing stages despite a desperate attempt from St Fintan’s to restore parity.

Late baskets from Dean Creegan and Dylan Kessie were not enough to deny Bray a deserved victory.

Calasanctius, Oranmore, beat Mercy Mount Hawk 57-41 to capture the girls’ Under-16 A title with Ailish O’Reilly winning the MVP honour.

O’Reilly drained two three-pointers to end any hopes of the Mercy team gaining a victory. With two additional free throws to seal the game, Calasanctius began the celebrations as the final buzzer sounded.

Calasanctius also won the Under-19 boys final, beating Benildus 77-69, with Kenneth Hansberry providing a masterclass in scoring 43 points.
