Brendan O’Callaghan is named Pharma Leader 2017 at the Pharma Industry Awards

23 trophies were presented to winning companies at a gala award ceremony held in the Clayton Hotel in Dublin on the 5th of October

Brendan O'Callaghan, received the Pharma Leader 2017 award, sponsored by Accreate, at the recent Pharma Industry Awards. He praised the the industry-leading capabilities of Ireland as a global player in the bio-pharmaceutical supply chain and how the sector continues to evolve to meet the needs of patients worldwide for life changing medicines. “It’s always an honour to be recognised by your peers, but I see this award as more of an acknowledgment of the many great people I have worked with and from whom I have learned so much from down the years,” said O'Callaghan.

Sanofi Waterford had a successful night taking home two trophies, the overall award for Pharma Industry Company of the Year and Biotech Company of the year and the Pharma Leader was received by one of their own.

Speaking to Ruth Beadle, site head at Sanofi Waterford, she said, “it's great to receive this recognition within Ireland’s thriving life sciences sector. The awards are testament to the great team at Waterford. In such an exciting and fast-moving environment, the awards are a nice chance to reflect on how far we have come”.

The Pharma Industry Awards, in association with Kuehne + Nagel Ireland attracted the biggest names in the industry however it is not just the major players who walk off with the trophies. Throughout the year's new entrants, start-ups and mid-sized companies have scooped major trophies.

Kuehne + Nagel, one of the world’s leading logistics providers, were the title sponsor of this year’s awards. Speaking about the awards Adam O’Sullivan, head of pharmaceutical and health at Kuehne + Nagel Ireland said, “the event really showcased the very best in the Pharma Industry and we were excited to show our support to pharma companies all over Ireland. The Pharma Industry Awards created an opportunity for a wide range of companies to network, showcase their work and collaborate.
