  • A high-level Christian Democrat leadership voice is positive for the EU; hopefully, he will have real policy power and not compromised by leftist and media. Was hoping for a more high profile selection as a Blair and Amb Burton as Foreign Minister. We must accept that the Franco-Prussian alliance rules the EU and selections for high-level posts will be obligated to that alliance. The Irish are now also rans in the post-Lisbon EU horserace.

  • You'd wonder what cosmic detonator the cheating French lit with their inglorious "win" the other night? Signs and auguries I'm a great believer in them did I ever tell yiz that? Ye can perceive patterns anywhere if you keep a sort of half-eyed glance. The old reticular activation system. I digress. But it's surely symbolic, hein? The first time we go up against a Giant State in the post-Lisbon Era, they cheat. Well. That can cut two ways. Remember David.

  • An unelected president is always bad for the people. But no-one in Ireland gives a toss as they're too distacted by the football. Meanwhile the country is sold out. Those of you who voted Yes will regret the decision as will your issue.

  • Hi there. I'm French, and I just want to apologize. You deserve to win, you deserve to go to the world cup. As many french, I feel bad today and we are a lot thinking that this match would be played again. That's really a shame. I want to congratulate Ireland (what a match, what an intensity, what a Damian Duff !!) and also their supporters. Sorry...

  • Its a disgrace with amount of money that is flooded into football all over the world that they cant place 1 official at each goal post(as the GAA do it) to stop shameful things like this happening. For Terry Henry to say he knows he cheated but doesnt care is just rubbing it in our faces now. What goes around comes around I say.

  • Video Technology is a must at this level of football. Everyone around the world could see it was a handball except the ref. One has to question the penelty that let up to this, awarded to France, and then question whether there is match fixing going on here? Makes you think as France were the favourites going into this and they don't take shame easily the Frenchies.! Well, now they must hold their heads down, because we will be watching them very closely here in SA, in June 2010. No we will not be shouting Viva La France!!!! We have other scary works in Afrikaans for these types of cheats. Southern Belle

  • What use would it do to have ol' queenie vist us? Rouse the rabble and remind us just how better she is than us lowly folks. Keep her out or try her for Bloody Sunday!!!

  • One has to face the fact that there is still a portion of the population that wallows in victimhood. They would resent the formal visit of The Queen. Ireland is now a mature free country and should be up to a visit by HM. A majority of Irish would welcome her with open heart and arms. The past should not be forgotten and lessons learnt. But the Irish virtue of forgiveness and love should reign.
