  • How can anybody say that there was only around 30,000 on the march?? More like the 70,000 suggested by the organisers. I watched it and I can tell you there was more than 30,000. Whether it changes the government's mind remains to be seen but one thing is clear we have to try and change their policy it is destroying Ireland

  • 2% income levy, 2% health levy, 4%PRSI + 10.75% Employers PRSI. is actually more than 15% but there are cut off points so 15% seemed a fair figure to use, And of course there are always fine private charities and the churches and family to help people out of holes as well. As the private insurance.

  • I see one or two beebeants are in favour of the IMF intervening. Interestingly on the Business Prog this morning there poll produced a 90% to 10% result in favour of said IMF coming to our rescue. I guess this is brought about by the various factions dissing each others contributions so the (wo)man in the street realises none of them has a clue as to how we recover. Perhaps we should rejoin the Commonwealth. Ye know yer man is much to gloomy. Let's eat drink and be merry for tomorrow we know not..... I wonder would it be possible to flog the country, you know a bit like the IRFU and Landsdowne. Surely there's someone out there with a couple of billion in change would like to own their own island?

After more Champions League disappointment at the hands of Lyon, is it time for Rafael Benitez to be replaced as Liverpool manager?

  • Absolutely not. No way! Oh how easy the Kop forget the seventh wonder of the world ie Istanbul. And wasn't Athens almost as good? Sacking Rafa is not the Liverpool way of doing things. Remember Ferguson was in his sixth season at Old Trafford before he delivered a title. Let's get behind the 'Pool and implore all reasonable fans that truly 'in Rafa we trust'. As a hardcore United supporter, it's almost as enjoyable watching the antics of the fat Spanish waiter and the like of Vorinen as it is watching United. I won't be happy until they do a Leeds! So there1

  • Sooner, rather than later, because he has been too far north too long, and it's time to move south. Perhaps Martin O'Neil could achieve results, but the competition is so strong, the managers role is now dubious.

  • I was never impressed by him - Chamoions league or not. The fact that Liverpool have NEVER won the Premier League is a sad indictment. His treament of Robbie Keane showed he was willing to cut off hisown nose to spite his face. Go now. This season is over already. Let the new man start building for 2010 season in this January transfer window.

  • What use would it do to have ol' queenie vist us? Rouse the rabble and remind us just how better she is than us lowly folks. Keep her out or try her for Bloody Sunday!!!

  • One has to face the fact that there is still a portion of the population that wallows in victimhood. They would resent the formal visit of The Queen. Ireland is now a mature free country and should be up to a visit by HM. A majority of Irish would welcome her with open heart and arms. The past should not be forgotten and lessons learnt. But the Irish virtue of forgiveness and love should reign.
