Reaction to Boston Marathon bombing

Sir, – In response to Ultan Ó Broin’s letter (April 23rd), in which he suggests that the organisers of the Dublin Marathon should invite runners from the Boston event for free to show solidarity with their grief. I am all for peace in this world, but Mr Ó Broin should not forget the 11 children murdered by Nato troops in Afghanistan some two weeks ago, or the 50 or so people slaughtered in Iraq on the same day as the Boston bombing. We should not be selective in our grief. – Yours, etc,

PAUL DORAN,

Monastery Walk, Clondalkin, Dublin 22.
