Praise for health service workers

Sir, – I recently had the misfortune to fall and break a leg. I was whisked to James Connolly Memorial Hospital in Dublin and was operated on within hours and put to bed. I cannot believe the love, care and attention I received from all the staff. From the tea ladies to the surgical people, I experienced nothing but professionalism.

Well is the hospital dedicated to James Connolly, who was a fired of my mother.

I wish all the staff and patients the very best. – Yours, etc,

Sir, – I and my family would like to thank the emergency staff of the Mater hospital in Dublin for their exceptional care of our 94-year-old mother who died there last week.

On what was described as their busiest day of the year, our mother was treated with dignity and respect. She received treatment at once, and each and every staff member that cared for her could not have done more to make her final hours more comfortable and peaceful. We would like to thank them for their care and compassion in what were very difficult circumstances for all. – Yours, etc,

NOEL TURLEY,

Drumcar,
