Sir, – We seem to spend much of our time in this country complaining, and in many cases it is justified. So please allow me to praise something that worked brilliantly for me.
I needed to renew my passport but I was not in a major rush. I decided to try the online application process to avoid having to get photos stamped in a Garda station, etc. So armed with my digital photo and my old passport, I filled in my application and sent it off at 2.30pm on Wednesday, and at 9.30am on Friday my new passport dropped through my letterbox.
