Parkinson’s survey

Sir, – We continue to search for ways in which we can educate and support people living with Parkinson’s disease in Ireland, a group which is rapidly growing with our aging population. The demands on our health service have been well flagged, in particular with respect to acutely ill patients in our emergency departments. We wish to highlight the importance of service planning for patients with chronic and complex neurological diseases such as Parkinson’s disease.

We are currently carrying out the most comprehensive single-country survey of the treatment effects in Parkinson’s disease to date. Treating Parkinson’s 2015 will provide us with the information needed to plan and provide treatment for people with this common condition.

We would appreciate if people with Parkinson’s and their carers could log on to our website, parkinsons.ie, to share their experience with us by completing this anonymous survey.

– Yours, etc,
