Male fertility: Awake-up call

Sir – Your editorial (July 27th), about the decline of almost 60 per cent in sperm count among American, European and Australian men, describes the research results as a “wake-up call”.

You evidently believe that declining fertility is a bad thing.

On a planet heading towards destruction by gross over-population, I would suggest the opposite, and that no efforts should be spared in the acceleration of such a trend: there may even be hope for us yet! – Yours, etc,
