‘Lavatory litter louts’

Sir, – Further to the article "Lavatory litter louts pose threat to birds and marine life" (Front Page, June 8th), I could not help observing an unfair bias against the Irish male. His unsavoury habits are referred to twice while there is no direct mention of the Irish female. An Taisce's study involved 1,000 respondents and I would imagine that those flushing baby wipes, facial wipes and tampons down the toilet are hardly all males of the species. Surely lack of sensitivity towards "birds and marine life" is not solely the preserve of the Irish male. A little bit of fairness, please! – Yours, etc,

RITA KENNEDY,
