Immigrants

Sir, – Michael G Brautigam (February 16th) reminded me of an encounter with an English lady I had worked with in Dublin a few years ago. She explained that having lived in South Africa for decades and desiring to move back to Britain, upon arrival she discovered England “was full of immigrants” and so opted to settle in Ireland instead.

Did I miss the news that irony bypasses have become actual medical procedures? – Yours, etc,

CIAN CARLIN,

London.
