A chara, – Regarding the latest Al Pacino film, your reviewer Donald Clarke notes that Pacino's character, having left his much younger girlfriend, "attempts to seduce the hotel manager, who, played by (Annette) Bening, a mere 18 years Pacino's junior, counts as more suitable romantic material in the movie world" ("Danny Collins – A dialled-down Al Pacino saves the day", May 28th). And perhaps in real life as well. Ms Bening has been married for over 20 years to Warren Beatty, who at 78 is three years older than Mr Pacino.
