An article on contemporary documentary theatre in last Friday’s The Ticket did not acknowledge one of its sources. The quote “Matter is our concern, not form”, by playwright Brian Friel, was introduced into discourse on documentary theatre and Irish practice by Thomas Conway, literary manager of Druid Theatre Company and lecturer on contemporary theatre at NUI Galway and The Lir.
An Irishman’s Diary in last Tuesday’s edition on the Irish nationlist and journalist T P O’Connor made reference to the fact that he founded the Sun newspaper in 1891 which later ceased to be published. The Sun newspaper owned by News Corporation was established in 1964 by IPC.
