Corrections & clarifications

An article in last Monday’s edition, concerning the start-up of Raidío na Gaeltachta, carried a quote which referred in error to “the late Muiris MacConghail”. Dr MacConghail is not deceased.

In an article in yesterday’s edition on possible locations for the national children’s hospital, it was stated that the Coombe maternity hospital was likely to fail a test by the Heath Information and Quality Authority. Both Dr Chris Fitzpatrick, master of the Coombe, and Tracey Cooper, chief executive of Hiqa, have confirmed that the Coombe Women and Infants University Hospital is not under evaluation by Hiqa, nor is it expected to fail any such test in the future. Dr Fitzpatrick also pointed out that its proposal for the development of the children’s hospital relates to a 20.5-acre site off South Circular Rd, and not 11 acres as stated.
