Back in 2002, Tim Ording, an American who moved to Ireland, dropped an excellent album called Pressure Points. Fastforward eight years, and the rapper who operates as Exile Eye can now be found at the wheel of Melodica Deathship, a vessel crewed by Deep Burial’s George Brennan, Scary Eire’s DJ Mek, Steve Von Till (Neurosis) and Simon Milligan (aka Epigon ADM). These sonic pirates deliver a rich, deep, intense palatte of dubby, smoky beats, which cros the tracks between hip-hop, electronica, dubstep, Irish trad and a few other sub-genres lurking in the water. The lure of the sea is a strong thematic influence here, be it in oddball sea-shanties (the creepy Ho!
