The Ambience Affair have had a song from their recent EP Patternsused on US TV show CSI: NY. The Meath-based duo’s song Parting Patterns was deemed suitable to soundtrack an episode of the crime series called Pot of Gold, which was based around St Patrick’s Day.
“I asked how they heard about us, and they said they went looking on blogs for ‘authentic Irish music’,” explained singer Jamie Clarke. “We’d given our approval, agreed a one-off fee, but hadn’t heard anything since then. When we did realise it’d been used, I went on all the blogs and forums to find that a lot of people were becoming increasingly exasperated that no one knew who the song was by. The day after I set the record straight, we had more plays on MySpace than ever before, and e-mails thanking us for ‘revealing our identity’.
