Dark Room Notes to release debut
Electric feel: Dark Room Notes debut in AprilDark Room Notes will release their long-awaited debut album in April. The Irish electro-rockers, who enjoyed success with their Love Like Nicotine single and Dead Start Program EP in 2007, have been working on We Love You Dark Matter over the past year. It was recorded in July 2008 in London, mixed in Dublin, and mastered in New York.
The quartet have previously worked with renowned producer Flood (U2, Depeche Mode, Smashing Pumpkins), but young Dublin-based producer Ciarán Bradshaw took the reigns for their full-length endeavour. Bradshaw has worked with several up-and-coming Irish bands in recent years, most notably Evil Harrisons, Subplots and The Chapters, who also have debut albums planned for 2009.
We Love You Dark Matter will be released on April 10th, and Dark Room Notes will play The Academy 2 on April 9th, with a nationwide headline tour to follow in May. Tickets for the Dublin launch are €12 and on sale now.
Drummer Darragh Shanahan told The Ticket : “We feel that we started living this album the minute we landed in London last July, and have been living it every day since. It has consumed our every waking hour, our dreams. And now that we’re beginning to see what we’re putting out to the world, we’re very, very proud.”
