Cork lose out

Bohemians 3 Cork City 1: CHAMPIONS BOHEMIANS finished off their league campaign with a flourish to maintain their momentum ahead of next week's FAI Cup final and in so doing ended Cork's hopes of European football.

Superbly taken goals by Glenn Cronin, Killian Brennan and Mindaugas Kalonas gave Pat Fenlon's side a third win of the season over Cork, whose defeat opened the door to Europe for Sligo Rovers who beat Brayin their final game.

Bohemians took the lead on 15 minutes when a cross from Gary Deegan was only partially cleared and Cronin pounced to rifle a rising left-foot shot to the roof of Mark McNulty's net from 25 yards.

Brennan doubled their lead on 34 minutes when Crowe's flick found the run of the winger who burst through before shooting past McNulty. Lithuanian Kalonas, watched by Spanish club Sevilla, effectively ended the contest with a 35-yard strike on 45 minutes. Cork's goal came via a late Danny Murphy penalty.
