The Boyle Medal award is presented after a rigorous consideration by an international panel of scientists. The panel includes scientists whose expertise is relevant to the research of shortlisted candidates and individuals who have experience in assessing the merits of world-class scientists.The judging panel included:

Enric Banda (Chairman):Born in Girona, Spain, he received a PhD in physical sciences at the University of Barcelona. He has completed decades of research into geological processes within the Earth's crust and is author and co-author of over 160 scientific publications. He has been Spain's secretary of state for research, is on editorial boards of scientific journals and has won many international distinctions.
