London Calling
TALK OF falling prices is bad news for vendors and would-be vendors – but prices have fallen so far that there’s lot on the market here that’s good news for investors.
Sherry FitzGerald believes there’s a view in the UK that property in Ireland has never been better value, so they’re off to London on February 4th to showcase Irish property.
Properties from all over Ireland will be on display at the show, to be held in the Copthorne Tara Hotel. They expect expats wanting a base in Ireland close to their original homes to be amongst the buyers. But Sherry Fitz says there’ll be opportunities for ordinary investors too.
The benefits of these London property shows? Sherry FitzGerald Triona Gorman says they’re “to maximise the property value for those selling with us and to market these properties to the largest number of potential buyers”.
The agency held a series of similar shows in the good times, when expats were hard-pressed to come up with enough money to buy at Tiger prices. It’s a different ball-game now.
Sherry FitzGerald will display a wide variety of property types, including investment properties, new housing schemes, holiday homes, second-hand homes, public houses and commercial property.
According to Gorman, “Close to 10 per cent of web traffic browsing sherryfitz.ieis located in the UK – last year we had almost 60,000 visits via 859 locations in the UK (37 per cent from the greater London area alone). We plan to capitalise on this interest by bringing Irish property to this market.”
