Drumcondra, covered by the postal district of Dublin 9, with part of it in Dublin 3, is a well-settled residential area a reasonable walk from the city centre with an abundance of redbrick period houses and good amenities. With easy access to the airport, Dublin City University and the M50 interchange, rental potential is firstclass. Many residents commute the short distance from here to the Financial Services Centre and the East Link Business Park.

Drumcondra rail station services the main Sligo line and the Arrow commuter link to Maynooth. From the Drumcondra end of Clonliffe Road, Clontarf DART station is within walking distance. Several religious houses, colleges and sports grounds provide open spaces and the Tolka River and Royal Canal flow through the centre of the suburb. The tall stands of Croke Park are visable from most parts of Drumcondra. On big match days, the quiet side roads are filled with parked cars.Pedestrians can cut through the side of Croke Park to Mountjoy Square.
