Cowen saga shows how politicians have to be on guard in a transformed media environment
THE REVELATION that the golfer Philip Walton has sought an apology from Brian Cowen for mimicking him was just another peculiar twist in a particularly bizarre week in Irish media and politics. That a bad interview from a Taoiseach who has done many bad interviews should spark such a firestorm reveals the extent to which our politics now operates in a transformed media environment.
