Hunting for food used to be confined to the sort of person who knits their own yoghurt, but the recent rehabilitation of foraging applauds such behaviour. All you need to know is where to look. Leitrim Landscapes, in conjunction with Tawnylust Lodge, Manorhamilton, offers guided walks on interpreting landscape and foraging in north Leitrim, using local guides, including Tina Pommer (above, right). Next Saturday, there is a mushroom foraging and scenic walk at Skreeney, and on August 16th there is a foraging and nature walk at Lough McNean.
