Summer finally arrived last weekend and the message seems to be getting through about sunscreen – there were no red faces in the office after the bank holiday. Parents are always extra vigilant with sunscreen on their kids of course, but sometimes we forget that those little eyes need protecting, too.

Frubi shades were designed by an ophthalmologist, Dr Gary Hall, who warns: “Sunshine has been linked to serious eye diseases and can burn the cornea. The damage starts early and is cumulative.” Frubis, with an eye protection factor of 99.5 per cent, protect against ultraviolet, blue light and infra red. It can be tricky to keep younger children from pulling off glasses, but these have a comfortable one-piece foam design, with padded nosepiece and temple pieces, so there’s a greater chance of them staying put.
