Food pilgrims progress to Drogheda

New England clam chowder, boned rolled herb stuffed turkey, sweet potato pie and pumpkin seed cookies are the only way to celebrate Thanksgiving and that's why New York architect turned chef, Reuven Diaz, and his Irish-born designer wife, Jeni Glasgow, are opening their exciting new Eastern Seaboard Bar & Grill in Drogheda, Co Louth, this Thursday, Thanksgiving Day.

Relaxed and welcoming, it is a modern yet atmospheric space and aims as, Jeni explains, to be "where restaurant meets retail and bakery meets bar." The breakfast, lunch and supper menus are diverse and original; even the most discerning of child foodies will be pleasantly spoilt for choice. Both the serious and fun side of US cuisine is represented and along with the favourites, there are also surprises from regional and folk cookery. Not even the Pilgrim Fathers could ask for more.
