Write time for a letter to Santa

Sir, – It is with some surprise that I read in your Letters page the apparent assertion that Santa is a Gaeilgeoir (November 17th).

If not (there may alternatively, one supposes, be some elf ensconced in a corner of the workshop with the cushy little number of translating all hobby-language correspondence) then as a gesture he could perhaps deliver a second chip to balance the shoulders of tiresome lobbyists. – Yours, etc,
