PROF BARRY Smyth has been appointed to The Irish Times Trust.
He holds the digital chair of computer science at University College Dublin and is an elected member of the Royal Irish Academy.
His scientific research covers a broad range of computer science topics. He is currently the Director of the CLARITY Centre for Sensor Web Technologies, a Science Foundation Ireland funded research centre involving University College Dublin, Dublin City University and the Tyndall National Institute.
He is an experienced entrepreneur having co-founded ChangingWorlds Ltd and HeyStaks Technologies Ltd.
