Walk of Light in Dublin city centre aims to inspire hope
PATSY McGARRY
A WALK through the darkened streets of city centre Dublin tomorrow night is being planned by seven different Christian denominations to help inspire some hope in these difficult times.
The Walk of Light is being organised by the Dublin Council of Churches.
It will be led by people bearing four lanterns from St Mary’s Pro-Cathedral on Marlborough Street and will leave the University Church on St Stephen’s Green following a brief prayer service at 6pm. It will go from there, via Leeson Street, to the Methodist Church on Leeson Park where there will be a further prayer service.
It is expected to leave there at about 6.40pm for St Bartholomew’s Church of Ireland church on Clyde Road in Ballsbridge, where there will be refreshments following prayers.
