Waterford city cuts parking fees by 50%
Waterford City Council, Waterford Chamber of Commerce and the City Centre Retailers Association have introduced half-price parking in all the municipal on-street car parks and two large privately owned parks from now until Christmas Eve.
The offer is available up to noon each day. Other car park owners are expected to participate later.
Well over 1,700 parking spaces will be available from as little as 70c an hour or €4 for a full day in the centre of the city. The aim is to attract shoppers from outlying retail parks back into the city centre.
