Irish singer killed in car crash in India

An Irish actress and singer was killed and an Irishman seriously hurt in car crash in India on Monday, the Department of Foreign Affairs confirmed yesterday.

Beverley O’Sullivan (28), Donaghmede, Dublin, was killed when the car in which she was a passenger crashed on the road between Agra and Jaipur in the Bharatpur area of northwest India.

She was travelling with her boyfriend Stephen Reeves (32), who remains in a serious condition in hospital.

Ms O’Sullivan and Mr Reeves are understood to have left Ireland on Sunday for a holiday and to have hired a car and a driver for the first part of their trip.

The condition of the driver was not known.
