Irish ticket wins €29m in draw
ONE WINNER in Ireland scooped over €29 million in last night’s Euromillions jackpot draw.
There were two winning tickets sharing the top prize of over €58 million. One was sold in Ireland and the other ticket was sold in the UK. They will each receive a prize of €29,430,608.
A National Lottery spokeswoman could not reveal where in Ireland the winning ticket was sold.
The winner has 90 days to claim their prize from the National Lottery headquarters in Dublin. They cannot claim their prize until Monday as the National Lottery offices are shut over the weekend.
It is the third time the Euromillions jackpot has been won in Ireland.
The last Irish jackpot win was last July when a family claimed some €15 million. That winning quickpick ticket was purchased in Carrickbeg, Carrick-on-Suir, Co Tipperary.
However, Limerick woman Dolores McNamara remains the State’s biggest lottery winner, after scooping € 115 million in the Euromillions in 2005.
There was also one jackpot winner in the Irish Euromillions plus draw winning €500,000.
