Go on and win another three
Pádraig Harrington holds the PGA Championship trophy with his caddie and brother-in-law Ronan Flood. Photograph: David Cannon/ Getty ImagesPublic debate Harrington's achievement
He's a machine! If we hadn't already had a Celtic tiger, it'd be him. - Louise, Ireland
His achievements are amazing. What a pity Ireland does not have an award system to honour its heroes. - Gerry Cunningham, Kenya
Im very happy for Pádraig but, the test of how good he is will be when he has the chance to play head to head with Tiger. I find his wins very refreshing as he seems to be a real family man and I like the idea that his brother-in-law is on the bag. I would imagine the sale of Guinness has shot way up. - Gary, United States
Beyond doubt one of Ireland's greatest ever sportsmen and full credit to him, he's earned it. Now go on and win another three of them, Pádraig, and then why not another three after that! - J Byrne, Ireland
A great achievement by Harrington but let's not lose the run of ourselves here. Harrington has three majors, Tiger has 14. When Tiger comes back, not only will Harrington need to win again but he will also have to win again with Tiger in the field. Enjoy it whilst it lasts, Pádraig, my bet is that this major was your last major. - Gary, Ireland
If only he didn't have such a grating voice. - Seán, Ireland
Savour the moment is right. Incredible accomplishments of Pádraig! What a ride! Poor Sergio! Ha! - John, United States
I am delighted for Pádraig. He has shown that you can take them all on and beat them and that includes Woods. He just needed to believe that he could do it. He had determination and he knew he was better than the rest. - Brendan J, Ireland
Okay, so he's a long way behind Tiger on world points, but hey, he's won three of the last six majors. 50 per cent return is pretty good by any yardstick! - Cormac, Ireland.
What a golfer! He has it all. He also shows how to win as well as lose, unlike the little Spaniard who couldn't find it in himself to praise Pádraig's golf. - Fergus Moroney, Ireland
