Kathryn Holmquist has been appointed Education Correspondent of The Irish Times. As well as covering education issues and developments in the daily news pages and the Tuesday Education pages, she will take over responsibility for careers coverage and advice for students and parents on the CAO and third-level entry process

.She will also be responsible for the content and development of a number of education-related special reports supplements each year. As a reporter and features writer, she has worked for The Irish Times since 1985. She is a former health correspondent and has written a weekly parenting column since 2000.
