Thu 04 Apr 2003School supports week of turning off TVsGlenageary-Killiney national school in Dublin is set to become one of the first in the Republic to have a "TV-Turnoff Week". From April 7th to 11th, the pupils will be encouraged to try life without the constant stimulation of the visual electronic media - and that includes Playstation. The idea, which originated in the US, is being encouraged here by the Reading Association of Ireland, which is hoping that children will pick up books to read instead. All schools have received a circular explaining how to run the event.
