President Michael D Higgins will go to London later this month on his first official visit abroad since his inauguration, his office announced today.
The two-day trip to the British capital will begin on Tuesday, February 21st when he will visit the London Irish Centre in Camden.
That evening Mr Higgins will make an address at the London School of Economics entitled, Of Public Intellectuals, Universities, and a Democratic Crisis .
On Wednesday he will tour the Olympic Park before meeting with members of the Irish business and cultural community at a reception in the Irish embassy.
His final event will be to attend a performance of Juno and Paycock involving the Abbey Theatre and the National Theatre of Great Britain before returning to Dublin on Thursday morning.
