Man stabbed in Downpatrick

A man (19) is recovering in hospital this morning after being stabbed overnight in Co Down.

He was walking along Pegasus Walk in Downpatrick at about 3.15am when he was attacked by three men and stabbed in the lower body.

Police said he was taken to hospital with injuries which are not believed to be life-threatening.

Detectives are working to establish a motive for the incident and have appealed for information.
