Man found dead in NI quarry

Police are today investigating the death of a young man whose body was found in a quarry.

They were called to the scene at Deerfin Road in Ballymena, Co Antrim, at around 12.05pm.

The 19-year-old man had been reported missing during the night.

It is believed he may have been dropped off nearby to where he was found and was either making his way home or to another house when he disappeared.

A postmortem examination is expected to help detectives determine the direction of their investigation.
