Two held over €1.4m drugs find

Two men in their forties have been arrested following a drugs seizure in Co Westmeath last night.

During the search of a premises in Athlone last night, gardai from the Westmeath Divisional Drug Unit assisted by local gardaí seized 20 Kilos of cocaine with an approximate value of €1.4million.

Five kilos of cannabis resin with an approximate value of €60,000 were also seized.

Two men, aged 43 and 42 years, were arrested and are being detained under the provisions of section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act at Athlone Garda Station.
