Two charged over Arklow death
Two men have been chaged in connection with the killing of shopkeeper John Deasy in Arklow earlier this week.
The two are due before Arklow District Court this evening.
Father-of-two John Deasy (4d) was stabbed to death on Wednesday evening at his shop on Coolgreaney Road, Arklow.
Mr Deasy had confronted a man who demanded money from a female assistant. and received a stab wound in the ensuing tussle. He was treated by emergency services but died at the scene.
The removal of Mr Deasy’s body to St Mary and Peter’s Church in Arklow is taking place this evening. He will be buried after Requiem Mass at noon on Monday, in St Gabriel’s Cemetery, Arklow.
