Two released over NI murder bid

The PSNI is continuing to question two men aged 41 and 26 in connection with a foiled attempt on Saturday by suspected dissident republicans to murder a Catholic police officer in Garrison, Co Fermanagh.

Last night, police said two men aged 32 and 22 arrested in connection with the security force operation in Garrison had been released without charge.

A fifth man is being held by gardaí in Co Leitrim.
