Russian President Dmitry Medvedev has called on Russians to remember the political terror under Soviet leader Josef Stalin, distancing himself from the historical ambivalence of his mentor, Prime Minister Vladimir Putin.
President Medvedev said he was concerned that the majority of young Russians were unaware of the scope of Josef Stalin's purges and said the crimes of the past should not be forgiven.
