Providence completes Spanish Point survey
Dublin-based oil and gas exploration company Providence Resources said today it has successfully completed its 3D seismic survey off the Irish coast.
Providence, which is listed on the London and Dublin stock markets, holds a 56 per cent interest in, and is operator of the Spanish Point licence which is situated in the Porcupine Basin, off the west coast of Ireland.
The Tony O'Reilly jnr headed firm said the seismic survey covered in excess of a c.300 km2 area primarily over the Jurassic Spanish Point gas condensate discovery and was acquired using the BOS Angler 3D seismic survey vessel.
Providence said it has awarded the data processing contract to WesternGeco Limited.
Last year, in addition to its existing parter Sosina, Providence brought in a new partner, Chrysaor, to begin exploration work at Spanish Point.
Providence also has interests in Britain, the US and in Nigeria.
