Post halted in parts of Finglas

Postal services have been suspended in two parts of Finglas, Co Dublin, today after a postman was shot by a suspected air or pellet gun yesterday.
According the gardaí, the man was hit by the projectile at around 2.50pm yesterday while delivering post in Cloonlara Drive, Finglas.
He was later treated for a minor wound at the Mater A&E and was released shortly afterward with bruising.
As a result of the incident, postal services have been suspended today in the Cloonlara and Fairlawn Estate areas, with some two hundred households affected.
An Post said it was working to restore the services as soon as possible, and postal staff based at the Finglas delivery service unit suspended deliveries to the areas.
Households affected can collect mail from the delivery service unit in Finglas.
