Two die in Offaly, Cork crashes
A 34-year-old man has died following a road traffic crash in Co Offaly in the early hours of the morning.
The man was fatally injured when his car hit a cow at Clashagad, Dunkerrin, Co Offaly, shortly after midnight.
He was taken to Nenagh General Hospital, and was pronounced dead shortly after 2am. The man was the only occupant of the car.
The main N7 has been closed between Roscrea and Dunkerrin village, and diversions are in place.
Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may information to contact Moneygall Garda station on 0505-45202.
Elsewhere, a man died in west Cork after a crash involving a van and a bus on the N71 Cork to Skibbereen road at around 11am today. Two other people were injured and were taken to Cork University Hospital.
The dead man was tonight named as Ranier Wischniewski (62) a local man.
